Electromagnetic Spectrum
Electromagnetic Spectrum is an immersive art piece made in collaboration with astrophysicist Jo Verwohlt. It was part of our exhibition Interference in Nikolaj Kunsthal February-May 2023.
The piece explores the electromagnetic spectrum through four unique rooms. From Infrared to Ultraviolet each room showcases a segment of the spectrum demonstrating the connection between energy, wavelengths and frequency. The first room embodies Infrared with no light, sub bass and a warm temperature. The second room conveys the first half of visible light—enveloped in fog with vibrant red, orange, and yellow hues, accompanied by lower frequency music. The third room unveils the latter half of visible light, featuring fog and captivating shades of green, blue, and violet, complemented by higher frequency music. Lastly, the fourth room represents Ultraviolet, a room without light, where high-frequency sine waves create an experience that is felt rather than heard since the tones are above 15 kHz and above some peoples hearing range.
Quality loadspeakers or headphones are required for the full experience of the music.
