Evolution of the Universe

Evolution Of The Universe is electroacoustic piece composed for the exhibition Interference which were a collaboration with astrophysicist Jo Verwohlt. It was exhibited at Nikolaj Kunsthal February to May 2023.

The piece was initially composed for an ambisonics configuration but later adapted to a stereo mix for the release. The piece sonically conveys the lifespan of the universe ranging from its inception to a plausible end. The full evolution was a collaboration with composer Mariam Gviniashvili. I composed the initial stages of the universe’s evolution namely from the big bang - until the end of the epoke known as the dark ages. My part of the composition also covered the primordial soup, partical formation, primordial plasma, recombination and cosmic microwave background. Following this Gviniashvili composed the rest of the piece focusing on the subsequent phases of the universe’s evolution, extending it all to a hypothetical endpoint.

It is pertinent to note that in the release that emerged from the exhibition, only my portion of the composition is audible, unfortunately omitting Gviniashvili's contribution.

Quality loadspeakers or headphones are required for the full experience of the music.
